ONE WEEK OF PRAYER

What would our Spiritual life look like if we took one week to place prayers for our own spiritual well-being and growth in grace at the forefront of our prayers? How radically would that change us? How different would one perspective on life be? What would that prayer look like? Here are few thoughts.

TO LOVE GOD AND NEIGHBOR Matthew 22:37-40 (NKJV)37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

TO SERVE THE LORD - Psalm 2:11
11 Serve the LORD with fear,
And rejoice with trembling.

TO EXHIBIT THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT - Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

TO AVOID SIN - Matthew 6:13
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.

TO HAVE WISDOM - James 1:5-6
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

TO HAVE BOLDNESS - Acts 4:31
31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

TO DO WHAT GOD HAS FOR US - Ephesians 2:10
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

TO LEARN TO TRUST HIM - Psalms 62:8
8 Trust in Him at all times, you people;
Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us.

TO HAVE A HUMBLE AND CONTRITE HEART - Isaiah 66:2
2 “For all those things My hand has made, And all those things exist,”
Says the LORD.
“But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, And who trembles at My word.”
